It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her newest gem.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because I feel like my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

However although she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.
